Grilled Caprese Sandwich

The sunny weather calls for a light and refreshing sandwich combination! Both flavorful and nutritious, our grilled caprese sandwich recipe with our Daily Kneads Tomato Basil Bread will have you wanting more! Using our Daily Kneads bread provides you a veggie double up in your meal.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Slices of Daily Kneads Tomato Basil Bread
  • 4-5 leaves of fresh basil
  • ½ tbsp balsamic reduction
  • ¼ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium sliced tomato
  • 3-4 slices fresh mozzarella
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

Step 1:

Wash your tomato and fresh basil leaves under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel and slice the tomato into 1cm sections. Stack 4 to 5 basil leaves on horizontally on top of each other and roll. Take a knife and cut the rolled leaves from right to left like a chiffonade cut.

 

 

 

Step 2:

Take your fresh mozzarella and cut 3 to 4 slices, 1 cm thick for each slice. Preheat your grilling pan or outdoor grill on medium.

 

Step 3:

Place 1 slice of Daily Kneads Tomato Basil Bread on a plate and layer the tomatoes, basil, and fresh mozzarella slices. Top with ½ tablespoon of balsamic reduction, ¼ tablespoon of olive oil, and sprinkle of salt and pepper to taste. Place the other slice of Daily Kneads Tomato Basil Bread on top.

 

Step 4:
